ABOUT THIS ISSUE

As with all first issues of the year, we have new expectations as well as medium- and long-term plans for the following issues. This issue of our Journal in particular includes some of the articles that received the best reviews among those presented at the XIII Argentine Congress of Information Sciences, which was organized last year by the Universidad Nacional del Nordeste (Northeastern National University) and the Universidad Tecnológica Nacional, Facultad Regional Resistencia (National Technology University, Regional School of Resistencia) (CACIC 2007, http://www.cacic2007.unne.edu.ar/). In fact, we are currently planning a special issue for this year which will be exclusively devoted to the articles that obtained the best reviews in its corresponding areas.

On the other hand, we are also carrying out a general review of all articles submitted to our Journal so that this process does not take more time than it usually does for similar publications. The articles included in this issue have an average review period of six months. We are working to shorten this time. Also, due to the nature of the reviewing process for periodical journals with possible requests for corrections and/or clarifications by the reviewers, it is very hard to determine a "uniform" revision time a priori for all articles, since this would probably limit the input of reviewers and even the authors themselves. As always, we expect to receive your articles, book reviews and thesis overviews.
